Briquettes Optimization of Palm Shell Waste and LDPE Plastic based on Particle Size and Compressive Strength as Alternative Fuels

Abstract The purpose of this study was to find the optimal parameters briquette making process (particle size and pressure), where optimization carried out based on values physical properties, namely density, elastic modulus ultimate tensile strength. method used in vary particle palm shell charcoal waste with sizes 40, 60, 80 100 mesh mixed chopped LDPE plastic a 0,5 x cm, starch adhesive water predetermined composition, then briquettes are given varying pressures 30N/m 2 , 40N/m 50N/m 60N/m 70N/m 80N/m . results found that highest density value 808,71 kg/m 3 50 MPa, strength is 4,81 Mpa. Based strength, it can be concluded most produced from pressure 796,08 an 40 MPa MPa.
